The challenge :
The company had to set up a team for bringing up mobile phone platforms in two weeks time. GRACELABS worked with the Company and set up the team within the stipulated time.

The Customer :
A fabless semiconductor company, which is a leading provider of Intelligent SAN components.

The work involved :

  • Development of device drivers on Windows And Linux.
  • Development of the SHIM layer on Windows And Linux.

  • Board Diagnostic software.

Software for consumer electronic devices
The Customer :
A DSP Systems Company.

The initial project from the company involved :

  • Development of USB device side software for data transfer between PC and Audio player
  • Development of corresponding host side driver.

The customer was happy with the work and our people were entrusted with other projects in board bring up and driver software development on Linux, Wince and TI BIOS for their evaluation boards. The evaluation boards were meant to prove their IP in the areas of Digital TV, Set top Box, Multi meida players and Wireless LAN. We have been working with them for about four years.

The Customer :
A US company focusing on Software Products for Flash memory programming.

The initial project from the company involved :

  • Porting of their Flash based software from VxWorks to VxWorks
The customer was happy with the work and our people were entrusted with other projects in driver software development, File System test suite development and utilities, Flash Simulation drivers etc. on VxWorks, Windows and Wince. We have been working with them for about two years.

The Customer :
A US based company providing mobility providing mobility products and solutions.

The initial project from the company involved :

  • Enhancement of WLAN drivers for Cisco CCX certification.
The customer Obtained CCX certification and has been entrusting us with projects in drivers and related areas such as diagnostic software.

Development of embedded Linux/UBoot based drivers
The Customer :
A US based multinational which is a worldwide leader in Location Enabled technologies.

The work involved :

  • Host controller driver for SD/MMC storage card in embedded Linux and Uboot.
  • Raw test driver for SD/MMC card on embedded Linux and Uboot.
  • Embedded Linux test project (LTP) for Kernel Debugging.
  • Host mode and device mode drivers for Transdimension USB OTG device on embedded Linux/UBoot board to support mass storage, HID, Serial and ethernet classes.
The drivers were developed in short time and the customer has promised to come back once the Market is up.

Performance Improvement of a USB ethernet Device driver on Windows.

The Customer :
A Fabless semiconductor company

The work involved :

  • The customer wanted us to improve the performance of the USB ethernet chip/driver.
  • The driver from the customer was getting 35-50Mbps on Receive and 50-80 on transmit.
  • The customer needed above 70Mbps on both transmit and receive for a design win.

The result :

  • The driver was redesigned/enhanced to give more than 90 Mbps on both transmit and receive.
  • The customer came back with additional driver development requirements on WinCe and Apple Mac.

Device Driver For a PCI Express Root Complex Device.

The Customer :
A High Speed Interface Solutions Company

The challenge :

  • The root complex device acts as a PCI endpoint for upstream and RC for down stream devices
  • The target was to make it look like an independent bus and allocate the resources without changing BIOS etc.
  • The project was earlier awarded to another consulting company and they failed to deliver after taking about 10 months time and then the project was given to us.

The work involved :

  • Basic driver for the end point.
  • Bus driver that would enumerate and configure the devices down stream and allocate resources for them from the common pool.
  • The resources have to be allocated and devices have to be configured using a common pool as PCI original root is not aware of existence of the devices downstream.

The result :

  • The driver was completed in about 4-5 months time as the hardware/firmware also was getting tested first time and had bugs.
